Satisfied that they have achieved their goals, Hamas’ proposal to Israel is to end the war by proclaiming it a draw.
“We made some points, you made some points, I think we can agree to let bygones be bygones,” Hamas spokesperson Ali Babar, said from the last block in Gaza that Hamas controls.
Included in the proposal was a release of all Palestinian prisoners in exchange for Israeli hostages, and a pinky promise to not repeat Oct. 7 one thousand times as pledged.
“We get our land back and you go back to your land,” Babar said. “Then the United States pays to rebuild Gaza. What could be more fair?”
When asked if reconstruction includes their terror tunnels,” Babar said, “You mean our bowling alleys and meditation rooms? What’s the problem?”
When asked why he had his fingers crossed when he made the proposal, Babar said, “It’s a Palestinian custom. It means we really, really, mean it this time.”
