As citizens gather signatures on an initiative to bring school choice to Oregon, the Portland Teachers Union Announced the release of a guide for how to teach students to advocate for Palestinians.

“It’s all about what’s best for the children,” spokesperson Amanda Daight said. “Our curriculum is an objective look at Israel’s genocidal treatment of the indigenous Palestinian people.”

When questioned about the timing of releasing a politically charged curriculum just when a school choice initiative is out for signatures, Daight was blunt.

“I’ve seen the curriculum at private and charter schools, and they barely touch on DEI, CRT and Palestinian rights education. We’re professional educators. We know what’s best for children.”

When this reporter pointed out that she could not find an American History guide on the union’s website under either A or US, Daight said:”Look under C for Colonizer.”
