As President Biden continues to cancel student loan debt in defiance of a Supreme Court Ruling, citizens debate the fairness of using taxpayer money to pay off the debts of students.
Madge Malone is adamant that transferring her debt to taxpayers is good for they and good for the economy.
“I mean after my debt was cancelled I had the money to fly down to San Francisco for the National Caviar Day Celebration. Doing that trip stimulated the economy and the selection of caviars was divine. Win-win!”
Auto mechanic Robert Roy was not as happy about taxpayers paying off student debt.
“It’s the stupidest, @#&*# idea of all the #@%&^ ideas that come out of Washington. If I wanted to pay for college I would have gone to college.”
When asked what Malone is doing with they’s degree, they replied, “I’m a professional activist lobbying cities and states to adopt guaranteed basic income programs. It’s really important for artists since that way they can concentrate on they’s art and not get distracted by having a job.”
When Malone was asked how they’s Gender Studies major qualified they to be a lobbyist, they replied:
“I studied biology, history, sociology, geology, physics, botany, psychology, political science and other sciences and stuff from a gender/queer framework. It made me a renaissance they.”
