OSU’s (not to be confused with The OSU) decision to add QR codes to player’s helmets to facilitate raising NIL money has set off a tsunami of imitation.

Other football teams were quick to adopt the idea. The University of Michigan has gone the furthest, changing their skunk-like striped helmets into a QR code.

“Tradition, shmadition,” player Buck Gaither said. “Show me the money!”

At the University of Oregon, their famous toilet bowl shaped “O” was replaced with a QR code. Unfortunately, Nike created such a stylized code that it would not scan. But it was cool looking.

In soccer, the U.S. Men’s national team requested to have a QR code embossed on their soccer balls. When that was denied, they arranged to have a QR code displayed on the scoreboard after every goal they score. So far, they have raised no funds.

While there was an effort to add QR codes by Only Fans models, the effort was stymied when they discovered their swimsuits did not have enough fabric for a legible QR code.

Outside of sports, Hunter Biden has announced that from now until his cash cow is out of office, all of his finger paintings will be just QR codes.

*Hat tip to Mark for the idea.
