The game is simple. Each player picks a word, or phrase, that they think will be used in political ads and then you turn on broadcast TV and watch a show (local news works well). Almost all of the ads will be political messages. Now listen for your word(s). If you hear your word you take a drink.
The problem is that picking the wrong word/phrase will get you wasted in a short amount of time. Here are the words not to pick if you want to stay sober the longest.
“JUST SO YOU UNDERSTAND” – Pick this and soon Kamala Harris’ answers will start to make sense.
“PARTISAN/BIPARTISAN” – Choose this and you are about to be sacked by a linebacker from the Lynchburg Brewers of the semi-pro league.
“OPPONENT/OPPOSITION” – Hear that rumbling? It’s the Inebriation Express racing down the tracks toward you.
“AMERICA/AMERICAN” – Bad choice. You’re about to be as hammered as an anvil.
“IF I’M ELECTED” – You just elected to pass out with your arms wrapped around the toilet bowl.
“THE AMERICAN PEOPLE” – Choose this one and you’ll soon be pickled like a Nalley’s dill.
“I WAS BORN A MIDDLE CLASS KID” – With this choice, you are sure to slur, just like America’s favorite former McDonald’s employee.
Health professionals note that the problem would be worse except that few people actually watch broadcast TV.
