As is traditional in many large cities, Dodgers fans rioted after their World Series win. While the police protected the looters from angry store owners, the mostly peaceful rioters then made the mistake of setting fire to a bus.

“They went too far,” Police spokesperson Irma Bobby said. “When we asked them to document their carbon allowance to offset the GHG (Greenhouse Gas)emission, none of them could. So, we took their names and gave them a summons to appear in Climate Court.”

When asked how many would actually show up for their hearing, Bobby was unsure.

“A couple of them, like Annie Oakley and Juan Wayne, seemed concerned with their carbon footprint, but others like Maya Normousbutt, Wi No Sho, and Yuri Nator acted like it was some kind of joke,” Bobby said.

A spokesperson for Metro found the bright side of a dark situation.

“It’s a good thing it wasn’t an electric bus,” Frei Ryder said. “We’d have to drain Lake Mead to put that fire out.”

After news of the bus fire went public, Al Gore immediately contacted Metro offering to sell the transit system carbon credits to offset the immoral GHG release, if the price was right.
