Dissatisfied with the way Panama has managed the American Canal in Panama, the future President is demanding return of the canal in exchange for a refund of the purchase price.
“The canal was sold in good faith,” future Administration spokesperson Barry Karefully said. “Now Panama is jacking up the price.”
Karefully was referring to Panama’s claim that $1 in 1977 would be worth $122 billion in today’s dollars.
“With Bidenflation it’s not far off,” Karefully conceded. “And they did put in gender neutral bathrooms to make the Canal Zone DEI compliant.”
At publishing time negotiations were just beginning, with the U.S. responding to Panama’s $122 billion valuation, with their own at $1.37.
The negotiations are expected to take some time.
