Elon Musk’s DOGE team made a startling discovery when it examined publications sent to the Middle East by the USAID. The most troubling was an Arabic language picture book explaining to children that men can have babies too.
In the book, Ahmed and Steve are having a baby. Bearded Steve is the “birthing person” in the story. However, employees of USAID did not not know that semitic languages read books from the back to the front.
When you read the book “My Two Daddies,” starting in the back, you see Steve and Ahmed holding a baby. Next a doctor appears to be stuffing the baby into Steve. Then Steve has a swollen belly just like your uncle Frank after Thanksgiving dinner. In subsequent pictures, Steve’s belly gets smaller and smaller as if he is digesting the baby.
The book horrified parents and children and resulted in mass burnings across the region.
The same mistake was made with an Arabic translation of How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Starting in the back, it shows Grinch cutting roast beast with Whos. Then he has a sleigh and giant bag filled with Christmas decorations and presents, that he uses to decorate the Who houses. At the end the Grinch and his dog are living grumpily in a cave for some reason.
While the Grinch picture books were confusing, these books were not banned because the story made no sense, but because any mention of Christmas is not tolerated, just like in American public schools.
The same back to front publishing error was made with the USAID picture book, Children, Meet President Biden. Starting in the back you meet Biden as a senile old man. Then he is President. Then he is a senile old man. So, the book tells the same story forward and backwards.
While a few hundred of the books were distributed, the rest of the print run are stored in cardboard boxes in former President Biden’s Rehoboth beach house garage next to his Corvette, just behind his new classified documents.
