Established during WWII to counter NAZI propaganda, the venerable VOA shared American values with the world, including our belief in truth, justice, and the American Way. Recently, however, VOA content had become indistinguishable from the content of authoritarian states. DOGE member, Big Balls, explained.

“Our first clue was that states like Russia, Iran and North Korea stopped jamming VOA broadcasts years ago, and instead began rebroadcasting VOA content.”

DOGE discovered that many authoritarian states are dependent on VOA content to fill all their time slots.

“Without warning, the Great Satan has ripped out the heart of our prime time schedule,” an anonymous employee of Iranian State Radio said. “Without VOA we’ve had to fill slots with CNN and MSNBC but they are too moderate for our listeners.”

As usual, while President Trump claimed to be acting in the national interest, he also had a personal reason for stiking at VOA.

“It’s just plagiarism,” Trump said. “They don’t pay us any royalties. Besides that, they refused to run ads for my Trump watches. Beautiful watches. Everyone should have one. Best watches ever.”

As the VOA cut back staffing overseas, most employees were not unemployed for long since laid-off staff were quickly snapped up by Axis of Evil state radio.
