Controversy has been swirling around Netflix’s plans to Bring the Chronicles of Narnia to their network. Most of the controversy involves the rumor that in this version, Aslan will be voiced by a female actress. Because of the gender swap, meridian-street.com has learned Aslan will be different in several ways. Here are seven of them.
The female Aslan will not have a mane, but will spend inordinate time brushing her hair anyway.
This Aslan has an unfortunate affinity for pink barrettes.
To demonstrate servant leadership, Aslan makes everyone sandwiches.
This version of Aslan roars at anyone who does not take off their shoes before entering the royal tent.
The new Aslan is a terrible chariot driver, but not because she does not have hands, but because she is female.
Everyone is confused by Aslan’s messages since this Aslan does not know how to mansplain.
While the feminized Aslan can’t open a pickle jar, on the bright side, she notices the shoes each person wears.
As a result of the controversy, there are rumors that Netflix might back away from the Aslan gender swap and instead cast Dylan Mulvaney as the voice of Aslan, thus getting the best of both genders.
