In recent years, the Disney Corporation has focussed on increasing profits by selling the right to skip lines. While this may seem unfair to those who can barely afford basic tickets, it will continue because it is profitable.

The problem with the constantly developing system is the multiple names and levels used. Fast Pass, Lightning Lane, Multi Pass, and Genie, have all been used and guests are confused.

To create a clearer system, Disney is introducing the “Mickey Caste Pass.” Guests can purchase whatever level of ride experience they can afford. Here are the names for those levels and how your experience is enhanced for just a little more money (dollar signs indicate price estimates).

Shudra Pass – Guests limited to the Standby Line. $

Vaishyas Pass – Allows guests to bypass one ride line per hour. Some of the most popular rides are not included in this Pass. $$

Kshatriyas Pass – Allows guests to bypass ride lines once per hour. No rides are excluded. $$$

Brahmins Pass – Allows guests to bypass any line at any time and go right to the front (includes rides, restaurants, and gift shops. $$$$

To add to the Brahmin experience, all guests holding Shudra passes must bow when a Brahmin cuts in front of them and keep their heads down until the Brahmin is seated on the ride and has been asked to tug on the little yellow tab to prove the seatbelt is securely attached.*

When asked if letting people buy privilege affected the lesser guests enjoyment of the “happiest place on Earth,” Disney spokesperson Ted Lightly thought not.

“The lower classes might not like it, but they’re not the demographic we’re going for anymore,” Lightly said. “All they buy in the park is a $20 balloon and some churros for their kids. They’re not worth our time.”

*On Autotopia, bumping the back of Brahmin driven cars may result in a beating.
