When the Texas redistricting plan reached their legislature, Texas Democrats fled the state to stop the vote on the plan. Outraged by the “gerrymandering,” they fled to Illinois, one of the most gerrymandered states in the union.

While the political standoff continues, the two parties have engaged in debate over the merits of different redistricting plans.

“You’re plan is stupid,” Texas Democrat Lotta Woomon, said.

“Y’alls’ stupider,” replied Texas Republican Colt Gunner.

“Uh-uh,” Wooman said, “Yours is.”

“Nuh-uh,” Gunner shot back.

Representatives from other states have also entered the intellectual fray.

“Stop name calling, you racist moron,” said California Democrat Reilly Sirious.

“Wut y’all bowed up about?” said Texas Republican Clint Wooker. “California just gotta be the dangdest gerrymandered state in the union.”

“Why bless my heart, that’s just not so,” Georgia Democrat Missy Belle said. “There are no Democrat representatives from North Dakota. Nary a one.”

“There’s only one district in North Dakota, you boob,” Florida Representative Justin State said. “Now that’s facts.”

When Oregon Democrat Representative Nate Nabob was asked for his opinion he replied, “We just do whatever California does.”

At publication time, each side had moved on from accusing each other of gerrymandering and now are accusing each other of “Playing politics.”

The nation was shocked by the news then went back to waiting for the NFL season to start.
