Deeply opposed to President Trump’s efforts to reduce crime in the nation’s capitol, Democrats pounced on new statistics that showed a 30% increase in Washington D.C. crime.

“This is why we defunded police,” Mayor Muriel Bowser,* said. “Fewer police and you have less crime.”

“Uh, no,” Caroline Leavitt, White House Press Secretary, said. “That’s a nutty way of thinking. The increase in crime stats is because criminals are actually being arrested.”

“I hate your hair,” Bowser said in a devastating response.

In related news, there has been no increase in incarceration rates as liberal prosecutors refuse to prosecute and progressive judges refuse to send criminals to jail.
