The tragedy of the government shutdown became real today, when meridian-street.com learned that one of our staff member’s cousin’s father-in-law’s sister’s friend lost her job at a federal agency.

The m-s.com staff is currently trying to determine which federal agency was shut down and produced this injustice, but is having difficulty getting specific information. However, we are assured that whatever this agency does, it is critical for some reason or another.

Update: It turns out that it wasn’t the staff member’s cousin’s father-in-law’s sister’s friend, who lost her job, it was the cousin’s father-in-law’s sister’s friend’s uncle that lost his job. Still no word on what the name of the agency is.

Update: Now we have learned that it was actually the staff member’s cousin’s father-in-law’s sister’s friend’s uncle who knows somebody at his pickle ball club who knows somebody that lost their government job.

Update: As we continue to try to track all the degrees of separation back to the person who lost their government job, we keep coming to Kevin Bacon.

Nevertheless, we at meridian-street.com are outraged on behalf of whoever it is that no longer has a sweet government job.
