The Oregon Liquor and Cannabis Commission has issued a recall for hemp cigarettes* that contained “excessive” amounts of THC, the psychoactive drug in marijuana.
The hemp flower pre-rolls are a smokable product that, apparently, is not intended to get you high, just cause cancer. The “defective” product was sold at dispensaries throughout Oregon.
“While there’s trace amount of THC permitted in hemp rolls, these particular joints had much higher levels of THC than is listed on the label,” OLCC spokesperson Emma Bleaver said.
When asked how big a hit the hemp smokers were getting from the “tainted” cigs, Bleaver gave a range.
“Somewhere between ‘Wow’ and ‘WOW, WOW, WOW!’ Bleaver said.
At publication time none of the recalled product had been returned, however, there were dozens of requests for more of the “special” hemp rolls.
