While many costs in Oregon went up in 2025, many others items became less expensive. Here are some examples of what’s up and what’s down.
Eggs – Cheaper yes, but eat them now since prices will soar as Easter approaches. It happens every year.
Cans Of Spray Paint – Continuing high demand keeps the price of these essential graffiti tools high.
Portland Downtown Real Estate – Office buildings are now selling for pennies on the dollar when compared to prices just a few years ago. Pickup an empty skyscraper for a song.
Laser Pointers – Demand for the handy little devices for blinding ICE agents has resulted in price gouging.
Retail Rental Prices Near The Portland ICE Facility– Anyone willing to rent a space near the ICE building can get it at fire sale prices.
Frog Costumes – Now popular with protesters, for some reason, these costumes are in short supply and prices have soared. Pig costumes are still plentiful, but get them while still reasonably priced.
Pepperballs – Portland ICE agents have fired hundreds of the spicy little crowd controllers, as have ICE agents in many blue cities. Shortages, always increase prices.
Weed – Prices continue to sag as consumers return to buying dope from a guy in an alley, rather than pay the sky high (pun intended) prices of over taxed marijuana at legal retailers.
MAX Light Rail Tickets – With fewer and fewer citizens willing to risk a MAX ride with the homeless and crazy people who don’t buy tickets, prices keep rising. Someone has to pay for the salaries of the drivers of the empty trains.
Trailblazer Tickets – Watching no-name players lose, over and over, isn’t all that popular. Who knew? Pickup cheap tickets on resell sites.
Gas Masks – Try to find one at any price in downtown Portland department stores. Actually, try to find a department store in downtown Portland.
Nordstrom Rack – There are plenty of bargains at the downtown location during their going out of business sale.
Cocaine – While not just a Portland problem, cocaine prices are soaring since some of the supply is now on the bottom of the ocean. Fortunately, fentanyl prices remain low.
Narcan – Despite making drugs illegal again in Oregon, demand remains strong for the injectors that revive users who overdose. Tip from locals: Try to overdose near police officers, since they all carry Narcan and you get revived for free.
While some prices are higher, there are still many bargains to be had in Oregon.
