Some of the eighteen other causes that use June to promote awareness have banded together and are suing Pride Month for its monopoly of attention.
“Where’s our parade?,” Pollinators Month spokesperson Bea Clover, complained. “Where is the pollinator merchandise at Target? Why not Pollinator days at Disneyland? What are we, chopped liver?”
“October is Liver Awareness Month,” Ben Thayer of Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome (APS) Awareness Month pointed out.
When asked what APS is, Thayer was frustrated.
“Exactly!,” “Thayer said. “Everyone knows what L, and G, and B, and T and…and those other letters and symbols are, but who knows what APS stands for? Google, would it kill you to give us a banner?”
When asked why his organization was not included in the suit, Thayer said, “Have you tried pronouncing our name?”
Other Cause Months either declined to join the suit or were rejected.
Immigrant Month preferred to avoid legal entanglement.
PTSD Awareness Month could not take the stress of a legal fight.
Caribbean Heritage Month replied, “Hol’ a medz” but lawsuit organizers thought it would be racist to ask them what that meant.
National Men’s Health Awareness Month was rejected because nobody cares.
In related news, Father’s Day has petitioned to get out of June and moved to any Sunday during the NFL season (not including pre season game days).
