Oregon’s Senator, the one that is not Ron Wyden, has longed for legislation that will get people to remember he exists. Now the Senator believes his focus on what goes down the toilet will help him out of the toilet.
Despite the poo-pooing of critics, the Senator cited recent urinalysis that shows flushing wet wipes is bad for sewer systems.
“What you plop in the toilet matters,” the Senator said at a press conference.
The WIPPES Act requires manufacturers to put labels on products that should not go down a toilet.
Then, flushed with excitement, the Senator tried leading the crowd in chanting,”Wet Wipes Matter, Wet Wipes Matter,” but neither of the crowd members present took up the chant.
“This WIPPES Act will stop the crappy practice of flushing non flushable stuff,” the Senator continued.
At that point the giggling of the reporters drowned out the Senator’s remarks.
As he walked away from the press conference, the Senator was heard to say, “I’m tired of being number 2.”
At that point the reporters could not hold it in any longer and burst out laughing.
